Easily Create Cello Chord Diagrams
Created in collaboration with Ilse de Ziah, the Cello Chords Tool gives cellists something guitarists, banjo players, ukulele players, and other chordal instrumentalists have long relied on: a simple visual system of chord shapes for real scoring workflows in Sibelius.
The idea grew from Ilse’s work in Irish sessions—where the cello can carry both melody and rhythmic harmonic accompaniment— and from jazz, where complex voicings and voice leading need to be clearly understood and visualised.
Features
1. Easily build and insert cello chord diagrams
Enter finger positions and finger numbers into a clear cello fingerboard grid, then insert the diagram into your score. You can also add the chord name above the diagram and the bass (slash) note at the side.
2. Choose diagram size
Pick the diagram size that best fits your layout—whether you need a compact figure in a part or a larger reference for learning material.
3. Chord library
Save each chord shape and build a reusable library of fingerings, so you can quickly reuse your favourite shapes.
